Zuzanna Pirog

Zuzanna Pirog ,96 of Stevens Point, died on April 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was under the care of Heartland  Hospice. She was born on March 18, 1928, in Kopanina Poland. She was the daughter of the late Jozef and Karolina Gawlowski.  Zuzanna came the United States in 1961 to Chicago. She worked as a cleaning lady in offices at Merchandise Mart in Chicago.

Her marriage to Tadeusz "Ted" Pirog took place in 1956 in Poland. The couple moved to Wisconsin in 1977.  He preceded her in death on July 8, 2010.

She enjoyed knitting, she loved county rides and all animals and was very devoted to praying the rosary.

Survivors include her children, Richardine Gorke of Largo Florida, Mark Pirog of Hudson Ohio and Andy (Judy) Pirog of Stevens Point. Grandchildren: Gerald (Sharon) Gorke, Gary Gorke, Ryan (Megan) Pirog, Andrew Jr. and Julia Pirog.

Also survived by two great-grandchildren, Emma and Lily Pirog. Also survived by her siblings in Poland. Stanislaw (Zofia) Gawlowski, Stefan (Kazimiera) Gawlowski and Irena Kaminska.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Alice Pirog and son-in-law, Jerry Gorke.  Sister and brother-in-law, Sabina (Jozef) Kot, brother-in-law, Marian Kaminski, Her first husband, Stefan Swierczynski and two infant siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Zuzanna will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday April 12, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1709 Wyatt Avenue Stevens Point. Rev. Jeffrey Hennes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Visitation on Friday from 9:00a.m. until time of service at the church.
