Alfred Rekowski
Age 83, of Wittenberg, died Sunday August 12, 2018, at the Iola Assisted Living in Iola.
Alfred was born on July 31, 1935 in the Town of Sharon. He was the son of the late Alois Rekowski & Teckla (Schulist) Rekowski.
His marriage to Alice Kaminski took place on April 12, 1959, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. After the marriage the couple settled in Wittenberg.
Alfred was a Life-time Dairy Farmer
His Hobbies and Activities included fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends at his hunting cabin. He took great pride in mowing his lawn. He was a member of the Men's Rosary Society.
He is survived by his wife: Alice of Wittenberg . Children: Ronnie of Stevens Point, Leroy (Julie) of Plover, Diana Pitcher of Plover, Nancy (Kevin) Michelkamp of Stevens Point, David of Amherst Jct, Barbara (Kenneth) of Custer, Marie (Michael) McGrath of Westfield, and Peter (Tracy) of Wittenberg. 3 Brothers: Joe of Milwaukee, Clarence (Mary) of Plover, Gerald (Bernadine) of Custer. 2 Sisters: Joella (Harry) Stoltz of Wisconsin Rapids, Rita Lorbecki of Menominee Falls.
16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren
Brothers-in-law and Sisters–in–law: Felix Kaminski of Rosholt, Benny (Geraldine) Kaminski of Polonia, Marian Schultz of Stevens Point, Celia (Edward) Konkol of Amherst, Theodore Kaminski of Elderon, Leona (Earl) Drefcinski of Stevens Point, Leonard Kaminski of Wausau, Rosaline Kaminski of Wittenberg, Michael Kaminski of Wittenberg, Leroy Schulfer of Amherst Jct., and Jeanette Kaminski of Custer.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his, Father- and Mother-in -law: Leo and Esther Kaminski, 1 son: Steve Rekowski, 1 Grandson: Kenneth Kenowski Jr., 3 Brothers-In-law: Andrew Kaminski, Conrad Lorbecki, and James Schultz. 4 Sisters-In-law: Marilyn Kaminski, Natalie Kaminski, Grace Schulfer, and Evelyn Rekowski.
The family would like to thank the staff at Iola Living Assistance and Ministry hospice staff for their dedicated and compassionate care of Alfred.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday August 16, 2018, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church Rosholt. Rev. Jeffrey Hennes will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pisarski Funeral Home Stevens Point and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Rekowski family.
