Alice G. Drifka, age 93, of Plover, died Saturday afternoon, July 31, 2010, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
She was born on Oct. 2, 1916, in Rosholt to the late Joseph and Johanna (Platta) Wanta. On June 27, 1936, she was married to Joseph Drifka in Milwaukee. Joseph died on Jan. 6, 2006.
Alice was a homemaker and loved to fish, enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo.
Survivors include her son, James (Andrea); daughter, Carol Orlik; and son, William (Tricia) all of Stevens Point; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Kirchner of Milwaukee; and brothers, Clarence (Rose) Wanta of Las Vegas and Fred Wanta of Crivitz.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters.
The family thanks the staff at Whispering Pines in Plover for the loving care they gave Alice for so many years.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover with the Rev. James Trempe officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Pisarski Community Funeral Home in Plover is assisting the family with arrangements. (715) 344-7454.
