Allan ("Al") Kenneth Young passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at his family home in Stevens Point, WI.

Al was born on October 27, 1948, in Milwaukee, WI, the second son of Cy A. and Hazel D. (Maegli) Young. He graduated from Brown Deer High School and then earned a bachelor's degree in forestry from UW-Stevens Point.

On May 5, 1973, Al married Mary L. (Beintker) Young, who preceded him in death in 2020. They began their married life in Stevens Point, WI, where Al was employed by Lullaby Furniture Company. Al's career in forestry moved them around the state, and they enjoyed many adventures together as a young couple before finally being able to adopt their daughter, Jessie. In 1986, they moved to Antigo, WI to raise their family which was completed when their daughter, Katie, was born. While in Antigo, Al and Mary fulfilled their dream of starting their own business, Specialty Veneer Company, to which Al dedicated his time and talent until retiring in 2023.

Al was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and being in nature. He hand-built a hunting cabin on the "Forty," where family and friends enjoyed many happy memories together. In 2018, he built his dream home on Lake Gogebic in pursuit of the ever elusive walleye.

Al was always ready for a good laugh, a good meal, and a good time. He had a soft spot for miniature dachshunds. Nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with his family and friends, especially spoiling his granddaughters.

Al is survived by his two daughters, Jessica (Matthew) Colgan and Katherine (Noah) Young, and four granddaughters, Samantha (Nick) Draeger, Payzley Colgan, Lily Lentz, and Cora Lentz. He is also survived by his brothers, Gerald Young and Robert (Christine) Young, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, parents, and uncle Kenneth (Marie) Young.

Al's memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his family and friends to whom he dedicated his life and love. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Young family.
