Andrew J. Janiszewski:
Age 61, of 3417 Minnesota Ave. Stevens Point, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at Mount View Care Center in Wausau surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born March 2, 1948 in Stevens Point. The son of Joseph Janiszewski and the late Dorothy (Williams) Janiszewski.
Andrew joined the Naval Reserves in 1965 and was stationed on the ship, USS Neptune ARC 2 during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1968. When he returned from the service he worked at Weber Plastics until 1976. He became disabled due to an automobile accident in 1976.
His marriage to Susan Glodowski took place on April 1, 1967 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Andrew enjoyed Hunting with his family, watching football, baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs, Auto Racing, participating in the world's largest Trivia contest and driving his Jeeps with the top down and the radio blasting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family,
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Susan, father, Joseph of Stevens Point, 4 Daughters: Renae (Anthony Jones) Janiszewski, Victoria Lehman, Sandra (Ira) Gordon & Jolene (Joseph) Edwards all of Stevens Point. 1 Son: David (Jami Hintz) Janiszewski of Stevens Point.
7 Grandchildren: Daniel Wilkinson, Cody Gordon, Desiree & Devin Lehman, Alex, Joey & Emily Edwards. 1 Sister: Delores (William) Herz of Stevens Point. 2 Brothers: Michael (Elaine) Janiszewski & Thomas (Sherry) Janiszewski both of Stevens point. He was preceded in death by his Mother.
Memorial Mass: 10:30 AM Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. Kevin C. Louis Officiating. Burial in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of services in the St. Faustina Room at St. Peter Church. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
