Barbara J. Halseth
Formerly of Mason City, IA died early Thursday morning February 12, 2015 at Oakridge Assisted Living Center in Stevens Point,WI., while under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Age 93 Barbara was born August 6, 1921 in St. Paul, MN. She was the daughter of the late Carl R. and Ruth (Van Deusen) Anderson. She graduated from North St. Paul High School in 1940 and Globe Business College in 1941.
Her marriage to Carroll A. Halseth took place on July 15, 1949. Barbara worked as a Secretary for a short time before beginning her family and becoming a homemaker. She did volunteer secretarial work for KCMR Radio in Mason City, Iowa. She was a member of the North Iowa Genealogy Society as well at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City, and was a member of Martha's Circle at Trinity Lutheran. Through which she helped make quilts as well as baking homemade items for the church.
Survivors include her five children; Thomas (Sandy) Halseth of Plover, WI, Steven (In Suk) Halseth, Manassas, Virginia, Jeffrey Halseth, Ham Lake, MN, Patricia (Richard) Leonard of Springfield, Virginia and Peter (Chong Hui) Halseth of Triangle, Virginia. Further survived by four grandchildren Erik, Sonya (Mike), Erin and Kelley.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carroll, one brother Phil, and sister May.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday February 19, 2015 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in North St. Paul MN. Family and friends may call from 11:00 A.M. Thursday morning at the church until the time of services. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Maplewood, MN. Pisarski Community Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family arrangements.
