Barbara "Barb" Zagrzebski, age 78, a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and family devotion.
Born on September 30, 1947, to Leonard "Blackie" and Marion Olski, Barb grew up with a strong work ethic and a joyful heart. Following her graduation from P.J. Jacobs High School, she immediately entered the workforce at The Worth Company. On May 13, 1967, she married the love of her life, David Zagrzebski, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, beginning a beautiful partnership that spanned decades of love, family, and shared adventure.
Barb and David were well-known entrepreneurs in the community. Together, they owned and operated Ziggy's Lounge / North Point Restaurant, as well as Mr. Lucky's Night Club, running the popular establishments until 1991. Following their successful business years, the couple retired to the peaceful shores of Lake DuBay. However, Barb's industrious spirit couldn't be kept still; she soon took a position at the UWSP, working there until the joyous arrival of her first grandchild. From that moment on, she happily traded the workforce for retirement, fully devoting her time, energy, and endless love to her cherished granddaughters.
In her free time, Barb found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a passionate gardener, a wonderful baker, and above all, treasured every moment spent with her family. An enthusiastic Wisconsin sports fan, she could always be found cheering loudly for her beloved Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Barb's warmth, energy, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Barb was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Zagrzebski, and her loving parents, Leonard and Marion Olski.
She is survived by her loving children:
Derrick (Lisa Ruhbusch) Zagrzebski
Dean (Angie) Zagrzebski
Tina (Ricky) Higgins
Tracy (Kris) Marchel, all of Stevens Point
She also leaves behind the lights of her life, her two granddaughters, Kylie and KayBri Marchel.
Funeral Services for Barb will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Guardian Angel Cemetery, with Deacon Jim Trzinski officiating. Family and friends are warmly invited to join the family for a small service at the burial site to celebrate Barb's life and legacy. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Zagrzebski Family.
