Carol Dolores Shakelford, 64, of Stevens Point, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026 peacefully in her home.

She was born December 9, 1961, to Harry and Gertude (Burkowsi) Stremkowski.

Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and her biggest hobby was collecting dolphin and hummingbird figurines.

Carol is survived by her husband Tracey W. Shakelford and two children, Jill M. (Andrew) Hefter, Athina M. (Kevin) Cook and six grandchildren David P. Mosing, Hailey M. Rocha, Christopher W. Hefter, Stephannie G. Hefter, Tyler J. Hefter, and Carli R. Cook. As well as four brothers and six sisters, Ronald Stremkowski, Edward Stremkowski, Jimmy Stremkowski, David (Noime) Stremkowski, Diane (Butch) Hoffman, Linda (Ron) Pezewski, Donna Stremkowski, Jean (Gary) Gavin, Janet (Gordon) Kubsiak, Lori Ann Hahn and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, one, son Jasson Engebretson, and two brothers, Dennis Stremkowski and Donnie Stremkowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Carol will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, 800 Fourth Avenue, Stevens Point. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9:00 AM until time of service in the Saint Faustina Room at the church. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
