Clair L. Tiede:
Age 80, of 2510 Russet Dr. Plover, died early Friday morning, Sept. 11, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born Jan. 25, 1929 in South Dakota. Son of the late Edward & Emelia (Koenig) Tiede. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota State Brookings College.
His marriage to Dorothy Mullen took place on April 1, 1950 in South Dakota.
Clair was employed at Fairbanks-Morse in Beloit, WI. While employed there he went to Spain and worked with the Spanish Air Force installing Communication Towers. He worked at Werner Electric in South Beloit and then Howard Industries in Racine. He was Vice President of WSM in Union Grove. Clair retired in 1990.
Following retirement, he was an Engineer/Consultant for Beere Medical & Beere Precision. He designed and patented medical instruments.
He was a self-taught vocal musician and arranger of Barber Shop and Christian Music. He directed Chorus's and sang lead in his Barber Shop Quartet. He provided vocal music for his wife's ministry for 8 years.
Clair was an avid fisherman, hunter & Inventor. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
A memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, two daughters, Peggy (William) McDowell of Tomahawk and Susan Mawbey of Stevens Point. 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandsons, one brother, Arlo (Della) Tiede of Washington.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers & sisters.
Funeral Service 11:00 AM Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Stevens Point. Pastor Bruce Pangborn officiating. Burial in the Plover Cemetery. Visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of services Tuesday morning at the church. Pisarski Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
