Clara A. Stanchik:
Age 100, of Stevens Point, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at the Stevens Point Care Center in Whiting.
She was born Jan. 13, 1912 in the Town of Hull to the late Franciszek "Frank" Sr. and Anna (Puzdrowski) Stroik.
Her marriage to August Stanchik took place on Jan. 18, 1930 in Chicago, IL. Shortly after that, the couple moved back to Stevens Point. Her husband died Feb. 8, 1990.
In her earlier years, Clara was a talented seamstress and quilter. She enjoyed baking, home decorating and gardening. She was an Avon representative for more than 50 years and helped her husband, who served as a bouncer for weddings at the Starlight Ballroom.
Clara was a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka's Rosary Society and a volunteer at the Lincoln Senior Center's Holly Shoppe.
Survivors include her three daughters: Esther (Alfred) Laszinski, Delores Pitcher and Loretta Michelkamp all of Stevens Point. 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren & 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; 1 great-granddaughter, Amy Michelkamp; 1 grandson, Randy Michelkamp; 1 granddaughter, Pam Zarse, and all of her brothers and sisters.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 am Wednesday, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Tom Lindner Officiating. Burial in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation from 9:00 am until the time of services Wednesday morning at the Church. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
