It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Cory Robert Blake on April 30, 2026, at the age of 41.

Cory was born on November 12, 1984, and grew up in Plover, Wisconsin. He graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) in 2003. Following high school, Cory attended Mid-State Technical College, where he earned an associate’s degree in Welding. He was most recently employed as a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker for Union 18.

Cory was deeply devoted to his family, but his greatest love was for his daughter, Braelyn Blake. He was incredibly proud of her and often said he could never have more children because he had already been blessed with the greatest child anyone could hope for—he believed he could never be that lucky twice. His family will forever miss his bright smile, signature dimples, and the unwavering love he gave so freely.

Cory’s greatest passion in life was hockey. Whether he was playing, coaching, or cheering on his favorite team, the Minnesota Wild, he embraced every aspect of the game. He also enjoyed playing softball and spending time with friends and loved ones.

Cory was a cherished nephew to his aunts, Karla (Scott) Wanta, DeAun (Brad Burris) Adamczak, and Desiree Laska. He was also a beloved “big brother” to his cousins, Seth (Rose) Wanta, Courtney (Colton) Ceplina, Dawson Adamczak, Kennedy Adamczak, Evan (Alexis) Laska, and Eden Laska.

He is survived by his siblings, Will (Jenn) Blake, Heidi (Chuck) Osborne, Michael (Jess) Blake, and Elliott (Nicole) Blake. He is also survived by his nieces Frankie, Drew, Rylee, Willow, Maddie, Ellie, and Gracie; his nephews Nolan, Colt, and Luneth;and his Godson Emmett. All of whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Patsy Omernik; his father, William Blake; his aunt, Deborah Omernik; and his sister, Olivia Kizewski.

Cory’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was an integral part of his family, and his passing will leave an incredible void for us all.
