David B. (Bertram) Langeslay

Beloved Husband, Father, Papa, Brother, Uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston with his family and friends by his side. David was born June 27, 1937 in Faribault, MN. He was a proud veteran of both the United States Marine Corp and the United States Navy.

Dave married Bonnie Doffing on June 12, 1970 in Hastings, MN. The settled in Stevens Point where Dave managed the Kerr-McGee gas station before becoming an over the road truck driver. After retiring he became a seasonal worker for the Stevens Point Parks and Recreation Dept.

Family and friends were Dave's pride and joy, as was his cabin up north. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying hunting, fishing, mowing the lawn and a good campfire. Dave also loved golfing, guns and his morning ritual of coffee and walks with his friends. He was a handyman and good cook, which was greatly appreciated by his wife.

His past included motorcycles and building and racing stock cars. Those who knew him understood his quick witted comments and his love to share stories. Dave had a huge heart which he generously opened whenever he could help his family and friends.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.

Dave is survived by his wife Bonnie, daughters; Stephanie (special friend Corey) Johnson and Gretchen (Joseph) Mazurczak, two grandsons Mitchell and Grant, a Brother Bruce Langeslay and s sister Michele "Kelly" McGinn. He was preceded in death by his parents Bertram and Marie (Bahe) Langeslay and three brothers Roger, Frederick and Thomas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Rev. Charles Richmond officiating. Interment will be at the Guardian Angel Cemetery on Friday December 22, 2017. Family and friends may call from 9:30 A.M. Thursday at St. Bronislava Church until the time for mass.
