Family was at the heart of Dennis’s life, and he cherished the years he spent building a home and raising their children.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Wayne Bienvenue who entered into rest on Wednesday October 15, 2026 at the age of 83.
Dennis Wayne Bienvenue, a longtime resident of Plover, Wisconsin, was born on November 8, 1942 to Arthur and Evelyn Bienvenue in Port Arthur, Ontario and grew up in Thunder Bay. His career took him and his family first to Mosher and then to Hearst. In 1985, Dennis and family moved to Plover, Wisconsin.
As a young man, Dennis was a surveyor with the Department of Highways in Canada. In 1965, he began what would be a long and fulfilling career with Consolidated Papers. He started as a Camp Clerk at Newaygo Timber Company Limited and advanced to various accounting and management positions. He served as Secretary/Controller of Newaygo in 1978. In 1984, he moved to Wisconsin as General Accounting Supervisor and was subsequently promoted to General Payroll Supervisor in 1990. He ultimately retired from Consolidated Papers in 2001.
Dennis married Audrey Busniuk on April 4, 1964, and they shared 58 years together. She sadly passed on October 19, 2022. Family was at the heart of Dennis’s life, and he cherished the years he spent building a home and raising their children. He enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Mazatlan, Mexico, taking cruises and attending Nascar races. Opening Day of deer season at the cabin was one of his most cherished traditions. He also loved fishing, curling, golf, softball, and hockey Besides sports, he was a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, avidly followed the stock market and enjoyed woodworking. Dennis treasured family gatherings, especially his annual fishing trip to Red Lake, Ontario and the special memories created. After Audrey’s passing, Dennis found companionship and happiness with Doreen Zielinski, his special friend and partner later in life. Dennis passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.
Dennis is survived by his children and their families: Murray (Dana), and his children Montgomery and Benjamin, Caroline (Ken) Hamus, and her children Christopher (Misty) Hassan, Michael Clark and Hannah Clark, and Darren (Tina) and their children Simon and Maxwell.
Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Audrey, his brothers, Louie and Gary, his sisters, Yvonne (Lorne) MacDonald and Sherry Bienvenue, and his parents, Arthur and Evelyn (Hendrickson) Bienvenue.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Dennis will be remembered for his deep love of family, his devotion to Audrey, and the many memories he created with his children, grandchildren, and friends. His love of travel, fishing, hunting, sports, and adventure will also be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a similar local charity of your choice to honor his beloved wife, Audrey, and to memorialize the Bienvenue Family Legacy.
A Funeral Service will be held for Dennis in Stevens Point at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point. A time for friends and family to gather will be held from 11:30 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date.
