IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy E.
Gagas
December 24, 1940 – February 1, 2026
Dorothy E. (Wroblewski) Gagas, 85, of Polonia, died peacefully at Willow Brooke Point Senior Living on the morning of February 1, 2026.
Dorothy was born December 24, 1940 in the town of New Hope, WI to Joseph and Annastasia (Ksioszk) Wroblewski. She learned the values of being a hard worker through growing up on a small family farm.
Dorothy graduated from Rosholt High School in 1959. After that she had many different roles in different companies, but mainly started working at Weber tackle tying flies, then went to Woodward Governor and after that Pointe Precision. Dorothy ended her working career at the Rosholt School District as a cook, baker, and dishwasher before officially retiring.
Dorothy dedicated her life to others. She always took care of others before herself and she was a great listener and advice giver. Anyone who knew her knew her as a spunky and matter of fact girl who took everything life had to throw at her in stride and with a bit of sass. Her and Raymond were always the first to offer their time to neighbors or friends in need.
Dorothy loved spending her free time in the garden, collecting her produce to can, or tending to her many flower beds, or being outside, and she loved fishing. Inside the house, she also was an excellent baker and cook and loved spreading the joy by making everyone’s favorite dishes for them. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together and sewing.
Dorothy married the love of her life, Raymond Gagas, on October 10, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. They started their life together in a small home in Polonia before moving to the family farm where they enjoyed many years farming side by side. They had 65 long and wonderful years that blessed them with 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Dorothy was deeply committed to her Catholic faith. She was a 50 plus year member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society and held office with them for many years, where she made many wonderful friends in the community. She also consistently volunteered for various church events, lending a helping hand wherever she could.
The family would like to thank the staff at Willow Brooke Point Senior Living for their care and compassion of Dorothy over the last 4 years.
Dorothy is survived by her three daughters Barbara Worzalla, Sue (Dwayne) Bembenek, and Carol (Brian) Wierzba. Grandchildren Brian (Kelly) Zick, Kevin Zick, Amy (Braden) Knutson, Jessica Worzalla, Kaylee (Jordan Matysik) Wierzba, Erin (Joshua) Wegner, Nicole Wierzba, and
Garrison VandeSlunt. Great grandchildren Ben and Emily Zick, Isabelle and Logan Knutson, Amelia Matysik, Levi and Everett Wegner, sisters Grace Gagas and Rita Schulist.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her parents, brothers Ben, Roman, Stanley, and Dominic Wroblewski, sisters Agnes Choate, Gertrude Schulist, and Lillian Kozlowski, two son-in-laws Norbert Zick and Mark Worzalla, and one great grandchild Mariah Wierzba.
