Eleanore Perzewski, 86, of Stevens Point, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at the Portage County Health Care Center.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1928, in the town of Stockton, to the late Joseph and Magdalene (Helminiak) Glisczinski and attended the Oakland Public School in Stockton and also St. Peter Grade School in Stevens Point. On Nov. 22, 1956, her marriage to Edward Perzewski took place at St. Peter Catholic Church. Edward died on Sep. 1, 1967.
Eleanore had worked for the Frost Fishing Tackle Co. and Normington's Laundromat. Later, she worked as a cleaning lady, store clerk and babysitter. She was very talented with sewing and baking and enjoyed visiting with her friends, needlework, nature and animals. She loved all of the children she babysat for.
Survivors include her son, Luke Perzewski of Stevens Point; sister, Martha Perzewski of Stevens Point; and special cousin, Alice Gotz of South Milwaukee.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanore was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph; and sister, Patricia.
Eleanore's family thanks the staff and friends of the South Wing and Therapy Dept. at the Portage County Health Care Center, Palliative Care at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Ministry Hospice and friends at Gamber-Johnson in Stevens Point for their care and support.
Her family and friends were truly blessed to have known her.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will take place in Guardian Angel Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be in the St. Faustina Room of the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time for Mass.
