Emily Kropidlowski:
Age 100, of Stevens Point, died peacefully Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Portage County Health Care Center. She was born May 10, 1911 in Rosholt. She is the daughter of the late Joseph & Martha (Slusarski) Dulak. She attended St. Adalbert's one-room school house in Rosholt. Her marriage to Sylvester Kropidlowski took place on Nov. 26, 1929 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Sylvester died April 30, 1966. Emily worked at Taylor's Drugstore in Stevens Point as head cook and waitress and was known for her fabulous pies, desserts and Peirogis. She also cooked and waitressed at many local Polish weddings. She is a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Anne's Society.
One of her proudest accomplishments was volunteering for the American Red Cross for over 50 years. She has seen many changes in her lifetime, such as the invention of the automobile, phones, television, movies and computers. She was here to witness World War I and II, the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the destruction of the World Trade Center. She is truly a part of American History. She enjoyed gardening, volunteering, fishing and spending time with family and friends. A memorial in her name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include: Four grandchildren: Richard (Beverly) Mansavage of Rosholt, Raymond Mansavage of Plover, Judy Mansavage of Stevens Point and Susan (Terry) Check of Stevens Point. Great-grandchildren: Janna & Emily Check of Stevens Point, Brenda (Michael) Trommer and their son, Matthew, of Amherst Junction, Angela (James) Ewert and their daughter, Kailie, of Birnamwood, Richard (Holly) Mansavage and their children, Erica and Ethan, of Iola & Nicholas (Jenifer) Mansavage and their children, Dominik, Nathan, Joleen and Jenica, of Iola. Godchildren: Richard Yenter & Sharon Lilla. Special niece: Joan Hoerter.
She was preceded in death by 1 daughter & son-in-law: Romona (Eugene) Mansavage, 2 grandsons: Conrad & Carl Mansavage, 5 brothers: Frank, Felix "Phil," Benny, Ray & Joseph Dulak. 3 sisters: Ann Yenter, Theresa Simonis and Eleanor Omernik.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Burial will take place in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the Church on Monday morning. For on line condolences, please visit www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.
