Ernest “Ernie” Klicinski passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum, Wisconsin.
He was born on July 5, 1944, the son of the late Julius and Rose Klicinski.
He attended local grade schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.
Ernie spent most of his career as a drywaller, spending countless hours at the kitchen table pouring over blueprints to provide contractors with bids. Ernie loved spending time with his Harley buddies, going on rides all over the United States. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races and had the opportunity to attend numerous NASCAR excursions where he was able to get suited up and drive the race cars. He always bragged that he drove the cars just a little bit faster than he was supposed to! Those who knew Ernie might say he sometimes came across as grumpy and a little bit loud, but underneath that tough exterior he had a kind heart and would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Kettle Moraine Gardens, Preceptor Hospice, Dr. Mian and Ronael for the exceptional care they took of our dad over the last two years.
Survivors include his two children, Ryan (Angie Thull) Klicinski of West Bend and Wendy (Scott) Sleeter of Stevens Point; his brother Martin Klicinski; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ronald and Patricia Gollon; his sister-in-law Lori Gollon; and many nieces and nephews.
Ernie was preceded in death by his wife Elayne; his parents; in-laws Andrew Gollon and Eleanor Krajecki; brothers Jerome Klicinski and Robert Klicinski; and nephew Kory Gollon.
Funeral Services for Ernie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday May 14, 2026, at Pisarski Funeral Home 703 Second Street Stevens Point. Rev. John Potaczek will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation on Thursday from 9:30a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
