Eugenia Aman

Eugenia Aman peacefully took her last breath on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Seasons of Life in Plover, WI.

She was born in Dancy, Wisconsin, on September 30, 1930, to the late Jacob and Stella (Matuga) Hajec. She attended the Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Janesville, Wisconsin, and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with bachelor's and master's degrees in Social Work.

She married Delbert Aman in 1961, and they later divorced. Together they moved to South Dakota, where she studied at Presentation College in Aberdeen and became a Registered Nurse specializing in geriatric care.

Eugenia eventually returned to the Junction City/Mosinee area to care for her mother and never left. She dedicated her life to the nursing profession, working in area nursing homes and caring for countless individuals. After she retired, she was diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. We were blessed to find a home at Season’s of Life in Plover where she lived for the last 12 years.

In her free time, she loved knitting blankets and socks. Those of us fortunate enough to receive those cozy gifts will treasure them always. She also loved picking berries and sharing them with those she cared about. Eugenia was one of the most generous and eccentric people you could ever meet. She had a gift for making everyone feel loved, often through the many limericks she delighted in reciting. Even during much of her journey with Alzheimer's disease, she could still recite them in their entirety, much to the enjoyment of those around her. Her voice saying, "You know you're beautiful," and asking, "Where do you come from?" will echo in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her children, Albert Jacob Voraman of Texas, Stephanie Aman, and Darla Aman; her sister, Delores Wentland; her grandchildren, Kelly (Jackie) Aman, Síle Ekaterin Lizska, Andromeda Li Aman, Rhiannon Rose Guthrie, Tony Mach, Lance Mach, and Evan Mach; her great-grandchildren, William, Ellowyn, and Loki; and her special friend, Jessica Przybelski and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Stella Hajec; her grandson, Robert Guthrie; her brothers, Stanley, Joseph, Ben, and Edward; her sisters, Connie and Agnes; and her special friend, Sharon.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to her family at Seasons of Life—Lynn, Logan, Rick, Amber, April, Lydia, and Jamy. Without your unwavering love, care, and friendship, Eugenia would have been lost. You stood by her through her best and most difficult days and for that we are eternally grateful.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Aman Family.
