Frances M. Soik,
age 72, of Stevens Point, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Frances was born Nov. 5, 1940 in Stevens Point. The daughter of the late Edward & Margaret (Schmitt) Firkus.

Her marriage to Myron Soik took place on April 8, 1961 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church; he survives. Frances and her husband, Myron, have been farming in the Town of Stockton for many years.

She was a member of the St. Mary's Altar Society.

Frances' greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her 18 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to St. Mary's Catholic Church of Custer would be appreciated.

Survivors include her husband, Myron.

Four sons: Curtis of Stevens Point, Conroy (Mary) of Junction City, Bruce (Stacey) & Mark (Barb) Soik both of Stevens Point.

Three daughters: Michelle (Kevin) Wasieleski of Plover, Judi (Ron) Gosh of Amherst Junction & Lynda (Kevin) Schroeder of Plover.

One daughter-in-law: Lyndel Soik of Stevens Point.

18 grandchildren: Brian, Michael, Lindsey & Kirsti Soik, Samantha, CJ, Katie & Cassidy Soik, Savannah & Mateo Soik, Drew & Leah Soik, Josh & Jenna Wasieleski, Matt & Mickey Gosh & Lexus & Nick Schroeder.

Two sisters: Sr. Rose Firkus SSJTOSF of Kimberly, and Helen (Bob) Czaplinski of Stevens Point.

Preceded in death by 2 sisters: Theresa and Ann Marie Firkus & 1 brother: Joseph Firkus.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 am Thursday at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Custer. Rev. Jude Dioka Officiating; burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home at 703 Second St. in Stevens Point. Also, from 9:00 am until the time of services Thursday morning at the Church. St. Mary's Altar Society will combine with a general rosary at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
