Gayle Marie Bonneville

May 21, 1943 — January 30, 2007

Gayle Marie Bonneville, 63, of 1520 Brookhaven Way, Plover, died peacefully at home on January 30, 2007, after a four year struggle with cancer.

Born in Ashland, Wisconsin, on May 21, 1943, to Edwin and Marie Theresa Bloomquist (nee Gervais), Gayle attended St. Agnes Grade School and DePadua High School, receiving a diploma from Ashland State Teachers' College in 1963.

She taught at Boulder Junction Grade School until her marriage to Richard George Bonneville on May 28, 1966. They lived together in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, for twenty-five years where Gayle worked as a substitute teacher in the Rhinelander and Three Lakes school systems and also as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. The couple relocated to Plover in 1990, where she continued to substitute teach in the Stevens Point grade schools.

Gayle's great passion in life was people, and her delight in young children in particular was endless. She never let an opportunity pass to show affection and thoughtfulness to those around her.

Gayle is survived by her mother, Marie; brother, Tom of Green Bay, Wisconsin; sister, Susan Schultz of Superior, Wisconsin; husband, Dick of Plover; her three sons, Craig Richard of Black Earth, Wisconsin, Scott Thomas of London, England, Brad Jean of Carborro, North Carolina, and their wives, Jennifer Bonneville, Georgina Drew and Christine Council. She was predeceased by her father, Edwin, and sister, Mary, and is further survived by her beloved grandchildren, Hannah, Abram and Benjamin by son, Craig.

At the time she died, Gayle was under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice Services and she worked as a hospice volunteer herself in the early nineties. Her family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, well-wishers donate in her name to:
