Gladys M. Flisakowski

Gladys M. Flisakowski, age 92, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Sunday, November 30, 2025, following a brief illness.

Gladys was born on Christmas Day 1932, daughter of the late Alex and Dorothy Feltz. One of 9 children, her life was always busy helping with chores and keeping the family running.

On May 4, 1953, she married Robert Flisakowski and during their 60 years of marriage they had seven children. They are Karen (Larry) Konkol, Doreen Flisakowski, Mary Lou (Larry) Rockman, Nancy (Tim) Binder, Joy (Don) Abel, Bill (Kim) Flisakowski, and Amy Marchel. She is also survived by her wonderful 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, all of whom she was tremendously proud. Two of her sisters also survive; Irene Piotrowski and Jeanne (Fran) Mattke. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her sisters Evelyn, Alice, Bette, and MaryAnn, and brothers Robert and Albert

After raising her own family, she went on to work at St. Michael's Hospital and Ore-Ida Foods, retiring in 1993.

Retirement didn’t mean slowing down. Gladys was always active and spent endless hours with family and friends playing cards, cheering on all of our great Wisconsin teams, or just sharing a good story (she had a great sense of humor!)

Gladys enjoyed making puzzles, listening to Polka music, and loved a good fish fry. A remarkable baker, she was always excited to try the next great recipe. She worked tirelessly to make holidays special for her entire family, preparing food from scratch, and making her famous treats weeks in advance to share with everyone. The love and effort “Grandma Bushia” put in to all she did is what we will miss most.

The Family would like to thank the nursing staff of Heartland Hospice for the compassionate care they provided over the past few weeks.

In honor of her Christmas birthday, please wear your favorite Christmas attire to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in her name will be established at a later date.

A Funeral Mass for Gladys will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church, 3200 Plover Road, Plover. Fr Arturo Vigueras to officiate. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.
