Gregory "Greg" Hurrish
Age 48, of 1635 N. Elm Rd. Junction City, died unexpectedly from natural causes at his home Friday, Sept. 11, 2009.
He was born Nov. 22, 1960 in Stevens Point. The son of Ralph and Jeanette (Lodzinski) Hurrish.
After graduating from Stevens Point Area Senior High School, Greg served in the US Army as a Military Policeman for 9 years. After being honorably discharged from the US Army, he was employed as a deputy for the Portage County Sheriff's Department.
His marriage to Mary Ellen Raczek took place on June 18, 1994 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek.
Greg enjoyed reading and spending time outdoors; he will especially be remembered for his fondness for animals.
A memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen, parents Ralph & Jeanette Hurrish of Stevens Point. Two sisters, Jeannine (Dan Selle) Hurrish of Stevens Point & Sarah (Michael) DiPadova of Milwaukee. Two Brothers, Gabe Hurrish of Rome, Italy, and Carl (Tami) Hurrish of Stevens Point. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Tuesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis Stanchik Officiating. Burial in the St. Bartholomew Cemetery in Mill Creek. Visitation from 4 to 8 PM Monday at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point, and from 9:00 AM until the time of services Tuesday morning at the Church. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Monday eve. at the Funeral Home.
