Harry J. Zdroik:
87, of 2925 Blaine Street, Stevens Point, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point. Born, April 12, 1924 in Stevens Point. Son of the late Joseph & Mary (Filtz) Zdroik.
His marriage to Grace Kostuchowski took place on October 6, 1944. His wife, Grace, died on December 13, 2001. His marriage to Leone Klesmith Bungert took place on January 1, 2003.
Harry was employed by Erickson Oil Company, until he started work for the city of Stevens Point for the street department. He retired in 1986. He also was a handyman for the elderly within the community. He did a lot of work on the former Yellowstone Motel and Joe's Bar in Park Ridge. He built a new bar there as well as the cooler.
Harry loved woodworking, tending his garden and his flowers. He also enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels. Harry and Leone spent the last years wintering in their home in Florida.
He loved to travel, go to the casino, and spending time with his son, Dennis and family, while in Florida. They were the light of his life.
Survivors include his wife: Leone Zdroik, special niece: Carol (Bill) Latourna, honorary daughter: Diana (Pat) Barlow and family. Also survived by nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by brothers, Edgie & Amel. Sisters, Susan, Theresa & Esther.
Funeral Mass: 10:30am Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek. Rev. John Potaczek officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday from 9:00am until time of service at the church. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harry's name will be established at a later date.
