Harry A. Ziolkowski

October 3, 1916 — February 15, 2007

Harry A. Ziolkowski,
age 90, of 334 Washington Ave., Stevens Point, died peacefully early Thursday morning, Feb. 15, 2007 at St. Michael's Hospital.

He was born Oct. 3, 1916 in the Town of Sharon to the late Joseph & Victoria (Strosin) Ziolkowski.

He entered the US Army on Sept. 12, 1941 at Camp Grant, IL, serving as a Tech 5. He served in Northern France and Central Europe. He received the European – African – Middle Eastern theatre ribbon with 2 Bronze service stars and the Good Conduct ribbon. He was honorably discharged Oct. 15, 1945 at Camp Butner, North Carolina.

His marriage to Leona Wroblewski took place on Oct. 26, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. She survives.

He was employed at Consolidated Papers Wisconsin River Division for 35 years, retiring in 1981.

Harry was a member of the American Legion Post 6, St. Peter's Holy Name Society and the Secular Order of St. Francis. He enjoyed gardening, going to the park, riding his bike, doing projects around the house and spending time with his family & friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.

Grace Kozelek of Nekoosa

Preceded in death by: 1 Daughter, Marlene Wojcik; 5 Brothers & 1 Sister.

Funeral Mass: 1:00 PM Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. Kevin Louis off. Burial in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 PM Today at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home and from 12:00 Noon until the time of services Saturday morning in the St. Faustina Room at St. Peter's Church. An American Legion ritual will take place at 6:30 PM tonight and St. Peter's Holy Name & Secular Order of St. Francis will combine with a general rosary at 7:00 PM tonight at the funeral home.
