Helen G. Adams
Of Plover died early Sunday morning February 1, 2015 at the Whispering Pines Care Center in Plover with her loving family at her side.
Age 98 Helen was born April 11, 1916 in Stevens Point. . She was the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Lila) Lapinsk.
Her marriage to Ernest J. Adams took place on January 7, 1934 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. After their marriage the couple settled in Plover. Her husband Ernest preceded her in death on September 13, 1975.
Helen began working at the Plover Post office in 1959 retiring in 1983 after serving as Post Master for ten years.
She was a lifetime member of the St. Bronislava P.C.C.W. and also a member of the Senior Citizens group in Plover, and a member of the National Association of Post Masters.
Her most precious time was spending time with her family on her river front property. She also enjoyed sewing, bowling and golfing and playing cards with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved her dogs especially her beloved dachshunds.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial in Helen's name will be established at a later date.
Survivor include her daughter Joan (Robert) Shannon of Plover and her son Ray Adams of Stevens Point.
Six grandchildren Mark (Judy) Shannon, Cori (Gunnar) Hedman, Kim (Sean) Gullickson, Aimee (Mike) Kucken, Brooke Adams and Nick (Mandy) Adams along with nine great grandchildren Aaron, Abby, Chelsea, Megan, Carl, Ian, Katie, Croix and Claire.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, one brother Ben and two sisters Katherine and Marian as Helen was the last of her family.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday February 4, 2015 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. Mngr. Jeffrey Burrill officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bronislava Parish Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:00 A.M. Wednesday morning at the church until the time for mass. The Pisarski Community Funeral Home of Plover is honored to be serving the family.
