Henry R. Wiernik Jr.:
Age 67, of 3307 County Road M, Stevens Point, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at his home after a short battle with liver cancer.
He was born Sept. 20, 1942 in the Town of Carson. Son of the late Henry & Angeline (Klesmith) Wiernik. He served in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970.
His marriage to Diane Olszewski took place on Aug. 25, 1973 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. She survives.
Henry was employed at Dairy Mans Coop in Junction City for 3 years, Joerns Furniture for 4 years and Domtar Paper Mill in Nekoosa for 39 years and 4 months as a Machine Tender retiring Dec. 31, 2007.
He was a member of the St. Bartholomew Holy Name Society. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin up north, hunting, fishing, especially his annual October pheasant trip to South Dakota, watching the Big Joe Polka Show, the Chicago Cubs, Green Bay Packers and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his Wife: Diane, two Sons: Brad (Julie) Wiernik of Junction City and Patrick (Lori) Wiernik of Stevens Point. One Daughter: Lynn (Daniel) Rusch of Junction City.
6 Grandchildren: Jacob, Emily, Constance, Abagail, Violet & Isabella. 3 Step-Grandsons: Dylan, Ben & Zack.
One Brother: Raymond (Eleanor) Wiernik of Wisconsin Rapids and One Sister: Liz Eron of Stevens Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Maryann Czerwony.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Saturday, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek. Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 PM Friday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point, and from 9:30 AM until the time of services Saturday morning at the Church. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday eve. at the funeral home.
