Hildegard S. Morris

81 of Plover, died Tuesday November 14, 2017, at North Haven Assisted Living in Stevens Point. She was under the care of Ministry Hospice. Hildegard was born January 7, 1936, in Giessen Germany. She was the daughter of the late August & Lina (Benner) Schomber. Hildegard attended cooking school in Germany and also attended Tech School in Rice Lake WI. Her marriage to Jack Morris took place in November of 1956 in Giessen Germany. She lived in Ashland WI until 1985. Her husband preceded her in death in 1983. Hildegard moved to the Plover area in 1985.

She was employed as a Dietary Manager at Court Manor, Bethel, and Portage County Nursing Home.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Plover. She was known for her cream puffs there.

She enjoyed reading, playing cards, baking and traveling to Germany.

She knitted hundreds of baby afghans for the Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield.

She is survived by her children; Barb Clementi of Plover, Paul (Linda) Morris of Marshfield and Linda (Dennis) Gnerlich of Stevens Point. Grandchildren; Christina Clementi and Ben (Brooke) Clementi. She was preceded in death by her brother; Heinz Schomber. Sisters and brothers-in law; Annaliese (Albert) Schaefer, Lani Schomber and Marianne (Walter) Clasen.

Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 18, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 2000 Roosevelt Drive Plover. Pastor Leah Woehr-Grande will officiate. Visitation on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials in Hildegard's name will be established at a later date.
