Holly Marie Gorell of Stevens Point passed away peacefully in her sleep from medical complications on May 20, 2026. She was born on December 27, 1973, in Stevens Point to Jerome and Lori Shroda, where she was also raised.
Holly was the loving mother of Gabriel Zoromski, Leia Zoromski, Ariel Zoromski, Marie Gorell, Gerard Gorell, and Zayn Gorell. While pursuing her associate degree, she worked various jobs before choosing to dedicate herself fully to being a stay-at-home mother and raising her children, which was one of the greatest joys of her life.
She was known for her eccentric spirit, her love of beautiful things, and her enjoyment of collectibles and movie memorabilia, which she delighted in sharing with others. Holly especially treasured the time she spent traveling, shopping, and making memories with her children at the Wisconsin Dells. Her dream was to create a loving home for her children and care for her family.
Holly was preceded in death by her grandmother and godmother, Alvina Marchel; her father, Jerome Shroda; and her son, Gerard Gorell.
She is survived by her mother, Lori Shroda; her sister, Shelley (Tom) Strojny; her brother, Jay (Hillary) Shroda; her children, Gabriel (Laura) Zoromski, Leia (Caleb) Friemuth, Ariel Zoromski, Marie Gorell, and Zayn Gorell; and her beloved grandchildren, Elijah Tousignant, Noah Kelley, Lydia Kelley, Levi Zoromski, Ephraim Zoromski, Uriah Zoromski, Caleb Zoromski, and Hannah Zoromski.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Holly’s primary care physician, Dr. Karen Shulman, who was a cherished part of Holly’s life and provided compassionate care and support for more than 30 years. They also wish to thank the Stevens Point Police Department, Fire Department paramedics, and first responders for their lifesaving efforts, as well as the religious clergy who provided spiritual support during this difficult time.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Holly will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Polonia, 7375 Church Street, Custer. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, with a rosary being prayed at 9:00 a.m. Fr. Mark Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a savings fund is being established for her dependent son, Zayn Gorell.
