Isabel J. Ostrowski:
Formerly of Custer, died early Tuesday afternoon, October 1, 2013 at The Lodge of Whispering Pines in Plover.
Age 90, Isabel was born January 14, 1923 in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Katherine Mansavage. She attended local schools.
Her marriage to Emil Ostrowski took place on October 19, 1940 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point. After their marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point before moving to the Polonia area. Her husband, Emil, preceded her in death on December 27, 1983.
Isabel was a member of the Rosary Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was also past president.
She enjoyed baking, making homemade noodles, making ponczkas, playing bingo, polka music, watching the Packers and had a love for Cardinals.
She had a strong faith and believed strongly in helping people when she could. She was the oldest newspaper delivery person of the Stevens Point Journal, as she delivered the newspaper to the residents of The Lodge, and helping in the kitchen peeling the potatoes for dinner time.
Isabel is survived by her five sons: Bob (Karen) Ostrowski, John (Kathleen) Ostrowski, Ron (Sue) Ostrowski and Gary (Wendy) Ostrowski all of Rosholt, and Mike (Sue) Ostrowski of Iola.
Her four daughters: Grace (Richard) Burant of Plover, Mary Ann (Mike Szafranski) Kropidlowski of Amherst, Gayle (Rick) Hintz of Custer, and Vicki (Randy Kiefer) Ostrowski of Neenah.
Twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Emil, two sons: Richard and James, grandson: Eric Hintz and one stepbrother: Lloyd Seavers.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, October 4, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Rev. Greg Michaud officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home of Stevens Point, and on Friday from 9:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church until the time for mass.
