James R. Engum

James R. Engum, age 77, of 1532 Maria Drive, Stevens Point, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 2, 2007, at home with his family at his side and while under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice Services.

Jim was born May 21, 1929, in Delafield to the late Lenroot and Margaret (Schneider) Engum. He attended local schools in Stevens Point.

He entered the U.S. Army on June 30, 1949, in Green Bay. He was honorably discharged as a Private on Dec. 1, 1952, at Fort Riley, Kansas.

On Oct. 16, 1954, he was married to Dolores Check at St. Peter Catholic Church. He worked for Consolidated Papers as an inventory clerk in the store room at the Biron Division for 43 years, retiring in 1991.

Jim enjoyed camping, fishing and boating. After retirement, he enjoyed making wooden crafts and lawn ornaments. He took great pride in keeping his lawn up to par. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1170 and American Legion Post No. 6.

Wife: Dolores of Stevens Point.

1 Daughter: Denise (Stan) Lehman of Stevens Point.

1 Brother: Wayne Engum of Woodbridge, VA.

2 Sisters:
Jerane Prible of Lake Geneva; &
Merrikay (Ron) Berry of Plover.

2 Half-Brothers:
Charles Engum of Green Bay; &
Kenny Engum of Michigan.

2 Grandchildren: Jared (Jamie) Lehman and Michele Lehman

1 Great-Grandson: Daniel Lehman.

Also: Great-Granddaughter on the way, Lily Ann.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Kevin C. Louis officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Friday in the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter Church until the time for Mass. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, is assisting the family with arrangements.
