Listen to Obituary
James 'Jim' G. Mansavage:

55, of 2224 Fourth Avenue, Stevens Point, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 unexpectedly while on vacation in Michigan. Born January 15, 1955 in Stevens Point. Jim was the son of Lois (Jacobs) Mansavage and the late Emil Mansavage.

Jim attended John Edwards High School in Port Edwards and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and worked as an independent Insurance Agent for the past 20 years. He was formerly married to Annette (Beaver) Daczyk.

Jim's lifelong passion for music came from his dad. He could play just about any instrument, from the accordion and harmonica to all kinds of guitars and strings and had his own recording studio for music production.

An avid traveler, Jim's wanderlust led him to most of the United States and around the world; anywhere outdoors was his destination of choice. His many treks provided the subject matter for his favorite pursuits- photography and creative writing. Jim also shared his expert carpentry skills with any friend or family member who needed his help.

Survivors include his sons: Mark Mansavage of Stevens Point and Paul Mansavage of Madison; his mother: Lois Mansavage of Wisconsin Rapids; brothers: Jeff Mansavage of Wasilla, Alaska, Jack Mansavage of Wisconsin Rapids and Jere (Judy) Mansavage of Lanark, WI; and sister, Jean Mansavage (Blair Semple) of Potomac Falls, Virginia.

Jim's funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point. Visitation on Friday from 9:00am until time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, his sons asked that memorials be designated to a special account of the UWSP Foundation's Schmeeckle Reserve Fund. Donations may be made online by visiting: http://www.uwsp.edu/Foundation and selecting "Give Now". Please indicate "James Mansavage Memorial Fund" in the empty box.
