Of  Plover died early Monday morning, November 18, 2019 at his home with his loving family at his side, while under the care of Heartland Hospice.

Age 64 Jim was born July 15, 1955 in Antigo, WI. He was the son of the late Archie and Margaret (Fisher) Douglas. As a young boy, the family moved to Milwaukee where he attended Washington High School.

Right out of school, Jim enlisted in the United States Army on July 20, 1972 in Milwaukee. He served as a SP4 with the HHB 2 nd Armed Division. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Marksman Sharp shooters Badge. He was honorably discharged on July 18, 1975 at Fort Hood, TX. In 1981 Jim enlisted in the Air Force Reserves. He was activated during Desert Storm, and served in the Reserves until his discharge on July 12, 1991.

His marriage to Bonny Bentley took place on May 5, 1979 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Antigo. After their marriage the couple settled in Plover. His wife Bonny survives.

Jim was the manager of All Car Automotive for many years, and most recently was working for Scheirl Tire Center in the Tire Distribution Center retiring in 2009.

In his free time, Jim was an outdoor man who loved hunting, fishing and going on adventures. He enjoyed working and restoring old cars. He loved most spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren as they were his pride and joy.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Jim's name at a later date.

Survivors include his wife Bonny, his two daughters; Michelle Jahnke and Megan (Josh) Szymkowiak, and his four grandchildren; Jackson James, Grant Keith, John Wayne and Josephine James.

He is further survived by two sisters; Linda Szablewski of Wyoming, and Gail Douglas (Carl) of Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Robert and William Douglas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 21, 2019 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Rev. Ed Shuttleworth officiating. Full Military Honors will follow after mass, as burial will be held at a later date in the Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King. Family and friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home in Plover, and from 9:30 A.M. Thursday at St. Bronislava Church until the time for mass. There will be a rosary prayed at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home The Pisarski Community Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
