Jan P. Hermann

Jan Peter Hermann, 82 of Weston, formerly of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2026.

Jan was born on January 27, 1944, to the late Howard and Rose (Konieczka) Hermann in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He married Kathleen “Kathy” Singer, and together they raised their daughter, Lisa.

Jan earned a Master’s Degree in education, dedicating 27 years to teaching in the Stevens Point Public School System. He was incredibly proud to be a part of a small group that founded the Stevens Point Area Educators Association Foundation (SPAEA), an organization that has provided hundreds of scholarships to local students.

Jan had a wide variety of hobbies and a deep respect for the environment. He loved to golf, hunt, and fish. He also loved to travel. During retirement, with his wife Kathy, they explored Central and South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa – resulting in beautiful photographs and lifelong memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Rose.

Jan is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy, and his loving daughter, Lisa (Jack). He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Jay (Kathy) Singer and Jim (Sue) Singer. He was also a proud “grandpaw” to Tiger and Twister, as well as Teddie, Frankie, Rockie, Bear, and Tanjiro, who are waiting for him across the rainbow bridge.

The family extends a special thank you to the kind and caring staff at Weston Memory Care and Compassus Hospice for the immense love and compassion they showed to Jan.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jan’s name can be made online or by mail to the Stevens Point Area Education Association Fund (c/o Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, 2801 Hoover Rd. Unit 1B, Stevens Point, WI 54481) or to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund (34 Washington St. Suite 230, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481).

Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Hermann Family.
