Janet Keen, age 79, of Stevens Point, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Portage County Health Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on September 8, 1938 in Milladore, the daughter of late Carl and Agatha (Blenker) Kozlowski.
On June 7, 1958, the former Ms. Kozlowski married Marvin Keen at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Junction City.
After residing in the Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. area for two years while Marvin was serving in the U.S. Army, they moved back to Junction City and operated the Badger Feed Store. Janet was employed for several years at Sadie & Jerry's Supper Club. The couple moved to the Town of Hull and built their home and Janet held various part-time jobs after raising her family.
Mrs. Keen was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved being with her family and truly made her house a home. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. Janet enjoyed growing flowers, reading, playing cards, fishing, traveling and an occasional bus trip to the casino.
Janet is survived by; her husband of 60 years, Marvin; one daughter, and two sons, Barbara (Michael) Denison of Jacksonville, FL, Randy (Janet Mertes, a dear, loving and caring friend) Keen of Stevens Point and Russel (Dori, a very special daughter-in-law) Keen of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Samuel and Reese Keen; three brothers, Robert (Nancy) Kozlowski, Ronald (Connie) Kozlowski and Melvin Kozlowski; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Town of Hull on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:30AM. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories with Janet's family at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 4-7:00PM, concluding with a rosary service at 7:00PM. A visitation will also be held from 9:30AM until the time of the Mass, at the church, on Saturday.
