Janice Morgan Buckingham, age 69, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly at Aspirus Hospital on September 2, 2026.
She was born on October 10, 1956 to Ernest and Agnes (Golla) Prondzinski of Plover, Wisconsin. She attended Plover area elementary schools, PJ Jacobs, and graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High in 1975.
Janice married Lavere “Sonny” Buckingham on June 28, 1986. Together, the team drove semi, coast-to-coast until his death in February of 2020.
Having no children of their own, Janice doted on all of her nieces, nephews, and stepchildren as if they were her own. The memories she made with them are priceless.
After the death of her husband, Janice found her true calling in home health care. Her current employer was Staffworks Group of Wisconsin. She was loved by her clients and took pride in the excellent care she provided for them. She was an excellent cook and baker, making special meals and treats for her clients.
Janice was selfless, always putting the needs and well-being of others before her own, without expecting a reward or personal gain. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and those she worked with and cared for.
Surviving sisters and brothers include Marie Helminiak, Tom (Arlene) Prondzinski, Kenny Prondzinski, Annette (Dave) Orlikowski, Elaine Schmackel, Jackie (Gabe) Rodriguez, Karen (Joe) Milanowski.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Jerry, Ronnie, and Mark, as well as her brothers-in-law Greg Helminiak, Lyle Schmackel and nephews Micheal and Robert Prondzinski.
The family would especially like to thank the doctors and nurses at Aspirus Hospital of Stevens Point for the tender care they gave Janice on her last day with us.
A private burial will take place at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Parish Cemetery in Fancher, Wisconsin. A Celebration of Life is planned for October 10th, 2026. More details to come. Please check here and on Pisarski Funeral Home Facebook page for updates.
Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Buckingham and Prondzinski Families.
