Jerome L. Lepak

Jerome Louis Lepak of Custer passed away August 20, 2026, just weeks short of his 86th birthday on September 23, surrounded by his loving family. He was the eldest son of Bernard & Virginia (Berna) Lepak. He married the love of his life Gladys Gliniecki on October 17, 1959 at St. Adalbert's Church, Rosholt.

Jerry was a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia and also a member of St. Isidore Society.

Jerry was a generous supporter of the parish and Sacred Heart School. He found true joy in giving and his generous spirit left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

He grew up on the Berna Homestead and attended local schools.

Jerry had numerous occupations which included farming, a milk route, being a millwright at Consolidated Papers, along with running his own business hauling brewers grain from Point Brewery to Central Wisconsin farmers.

He embraced life with many hobbies: hunting, fishing, bird watching, giving thrilling rides on his UTV and in his Cadillac to his children & grandchildren and participating in basket raffles. He was an avid collector of many things, especially Point Beer memorabilia and beer mirrors.

Jerry is survived by his 6 children: Debra (Roger) Yenter, Mark (Carolyn) Lepak, Lori (Kenneth) Firkus, Denise Lepak-Klesmith, Peggy (Lorin) Chojnacki, Katina (Jeff) Warner.

Grandchildren: Sarah Kubisiak, Dustin Yenter, Darlene Garski, Jarrod Lepak, Tiffany Firkus, Brittany Wierzba, Austin Klesmith, Nicole Mallek, Danielle Firkus, Brian Chojnacki, Michelle Chojnacki, Hunter Warner, Carson Warner and 16 Great Grandchildren including a newborn and another on the way. And we can’t forget his best friend, Bella.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys of 60 years, parents Barney & Virginia Lepak, brother Art Lepak, as well as many other loved ones.

To those who knew Jerry knew him as having a deep rooted faith and unwavering love for his family.

Memories of him include his quirky sense of humor, his fun giveaways at family gatherings, warm family conversations & stories, and his giving heart.

Our family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the dedicated medical staff Kaylie, Laura, Caleb, Kim & Sara at St. Croix Hospice. Thank you for your exceptional care & compassion not only for our Dad, but for the entire family.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jerry will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Polonia), 7375 Church Street, Custer. Rev. Mark Miller will officiate. 

Visitation will be on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point. A parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
