Jerome "Jerry" S. (Stanley) Raschka
Of Stevens Point died early Wednesday morning August 1, 2018 at the Marshfield Medical Center.
Age 73 Jerry was born November 13, 1944 in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late Paul and Bernice (Bialas) Raschka.
He attended St. Stanislaus Parochial Grade School, and Pacelli High school and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.
Jerry entered the United States Army on October 24, 1965 in Milwaukee, WI. He achieved the rank of SP4 – E4 while serving in the Army. Jerry was honorably discharged October 26, 1967 in Fort Knox, KY. Jerry received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a Marksman Rifle Badge.
Jerry married the former Patricia Woytasik on August 31, 1968 at St. Peters Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point. His wife Pat survives.
Jerry owned and operated Jerrys Service Station for many years located on Second Street, and in the later years it was known as Jerry's Auto Service until his retirement in October 2016.
Jerry was a member of the American Legion Berens-Scribner Post 6.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
Jerry had a love of planes, trains and classic cars, collecting stamps and coins. He also had a collection of movies and old records, loved feeding wild birds and enjoyed his Aquariums. He and Pat loved going to country music concerts and taking trips to Branson, MO.
Survivors include his wife Patricia, his children Dione Raschka of Stevens Point, Sherri (Troy) Kuchel of Winona, MN, Florian "Eric" (Paul Hendry) Raschka of Hamilton, Ontario Canada, Jessica Riley of Plover and Jeremy Raschka of Stevens Point.
Further survived by his four grandchildren; Julianne Riley, Joshua Riley, Jennalynn Riley and Kelsi Kuchel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Evelyn Cera and Jeanette Eiden and one brother Benedict Raschka.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am Monday, August 6, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Burial with full military honors will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:30 A.M Monday at Holy Spirit Church until the time for mass. The Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
