Joan B. Strong

Joan B. Strong, age 74, of 601 Walter St. Stevens Point, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 at St. Michael's Hospital.

She was born on July 20, 1934, in Stevens Point to the late Arthur and Mabel (Starks) Freeman and was a 1952 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School. In May of 1982, she was married to James Strong in Paradise Valley, Arizona. James died on March 19, 2007.

Joan worked in food service at UW-Stevens Point and Arizona State University and later worked for the South Side Copps in Stevens Point before her retirement. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed reading, puzzles, her pets and the outdoors.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Freeman and numerous pets.

Funeral Services for Joan will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point with the Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial will take place in Guardian Angel Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
