Joan C. Wiza

Joan C. Wiza, age 57, of Rubicon, died Saturday morning, July 1, 2006, at her residence. Born Jan. 27, 1949, in the Portage County town of Sharon to Felix and Elizabeth (Goskowicz) Garski, she attended Rosholt schools. On Sept. 21, 1968, she was married to Robert J. Wiza at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Joan worked in housekeeping for the Mayville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and also worked for the family business, Wiza Firewood. She enjoyed polka music, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt with the Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point and again on Thursday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time for Mass. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
