John A. Bernas:

Age 62, of Plover, WI died of natural causes on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at his residence.

He was born April 4, 1950 in Stevens Point. He is the son of Edward and Genevieve (Walczak) Bernas.

John served in the Army National Guard 32nd Division, 120th Field Artillery, for 25 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant.

He was employed for Ed Bernas Heating as a Sheet Metal Journeyman for over 40 years.

He was a member of the 32nd Division Association. He enjoyed auto racing, fishing, shooting sports and antique cars and tractors.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.

Survivors include his parents: Edward & Genevieve Bernas of Stevens Point, three brothers: Tom (Stephanie) Bernas of Plover, Jim (Cindy) Bernas and Bob (Carol) Bernas both of Stevens Point. One sister: Donna (Dave) Suchon of Stevens Point. Also survived by six nieces and nephews: Joey, Haley, Eddie, Alex, Matthew & Danny Bernas.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 am Tuesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rev. Tom Lindner Officiating. Burial will take place in the Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of services Tuesday morning at the Church.
