John S. Wayerski, age 81, of 2001 River View Ave., #21, Stevens Point, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 23, 2007, at St. Michael's Hospital following complications from surgery.
Born Dec. 26, 1925, in Junction City to the late Frank and Rose (Ruka) Wayerski. He attended White Lily Grade School in Junction City. On Aug. 2, 1947, he was married to Irene Kresh at St. Peter Catholic Church. John worked for 12 years at Haertel Monument and later worked as a boiler operator for the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, retiring in 1988 after 20 years of service. He enjoyed deer hunting and carpentry work in his workshop with his great-grandson.

Wife: Irene of Stevens Point.
Son: Dennis (Arlene) of Prescott Valley, Ariz.
Daughter: Mary Jo Kurzynski of Stevens Point.
Granddaughter: Jennifer Gagas (fiancée, Jerry M. Peplinski) of Stevens Point.
Great-Grandson: Mark Gagas, Jr.
Brother: Jim Wayerski of Stevens Point.

Mary Ann Wojtalewicz of Stevens Point;
Delores (Irv) Mews of Junction City;
Theresa (Norbert) Strojny of Stevens Point.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jim Kurzynski, and his brothers and sisters, Adeline, George, Lillian, Ray, Robert and Rosalie.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday morning in the St. Faustina Room at St. Peter Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time for Mass.
