Karen E. Knuese:
Age 68, of Lake Dubay, Mosinee, died peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Portage County Health Care Center after a courageous 3-year battle with cancer.
She was born June 30, 1942 in Milwaukee. Daughter of the late Norman & Mary Frances (Murray) Spoerl.
Her marriage to Carl Knuese took place on May 18, 1963 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He survives.
Along with her husband, Carl, the couple own and have operated the Campus Cycle and Sport Shop in Stevens Point for the past 37 years.
She was a member of the St. Peter Rosary Society Rose #7.
Karen was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling and especially spending time with her family.
A memorial in her name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include her husband: Carl, one son: Kevin Knuese of Waukesha, one daughter: Barbara (Tim) Coghlin of Suamico, two grandchildren: Joseph and Faith Elizabeth Coghlin. Mother-in-law: Frances Knuese, and one sister: Susan (Kenneth) Kaestner of Ixonia.
Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point and from 12:00 Noon Thursday until the time of services in the St. Faustina Room at St. Peter Church. St. Peter Rosary Society will combine with a general rosary at 7:00 PM Wednesday Eve. at the funeral home.
