Karen Patricia Mitchell, 64, of Plover, died Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Ministry Saint Joesph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
She was born on March 8th, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Olga and Joseph Lyne (Lysczyk). On May 14, 1977, she married her loving husband, James E. Mitchell, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Stephenson, Michigan.
Karen graduated from Michigan Tech University in Houghton, and retired from Sentry Insurance after 36 years as an IT Manager. She made many lifelong friends while working that were of immeasurable importance to her. After she retired, she volunteered as a secretary at St. Bron's and truly enjoyed her time assisting the church and school. Karen also enjoyed traveling and spending her summers at their cabin in Fremont, Wisconsin, with friends and family. She will be missed dearly by so many.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Mitchell of Plover; daughters, Kristin Mitchell (Josh) Schaer of San Diego, California, and Jennifer (Tony) Magestro of Madison, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Jacob, Kaelyn and a grandbaby due in March 2016, along with Elliana, Giada and Analia.
The family is thankful to their friends and family for the support they have provided. Karen's friendships and memories were very important to her and the love and support that has been received is truly appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Karen's name to the Arthritis Foundation.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. Monsignor Jeffrey Burrill will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Road, Plover, and again on Thursday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time for Mass. The rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
