Lavon C. Emery:

Of Plover, died Friday evening, October 8, 2010 at his home. Age 82. Lavon was born December 26, 1927 in Wauzeka, WI.

He was the son of the late John & Grace (Mills) Emery. Lavon graduated from Wauzeka High School in 1947.

He entered the United States Army on September 23, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI. He served as a Pvt. 1st Class with the Transportation Army Res. Lavon was honorably discharged on September 9, 1954 at Fort Sheridan, IL.

After his return from the service, Lavon worked at the Box Factory in Wauzeka, Wisconsin Hardware and also the Methodist Hospital in Madison.

Lavon enjoyed wrestling, collecting recipes, family get-togethers, watching TV; loved music and Christmas.

He also enjoyed rummage sales, playing dice games and loved History books.

Survivors include one brother: Richard (Shirley) Emery of Wauzeka, WI, three sisters: Janice Losinski of Plover, Pat (Ken) Nelson of Waunakee, WI, and Georgina Mullikan of Prairie Du Chein, WI.

Two sisters-in-law: Betty Emery of Madison and Donne Emery of Waukesha, WI.

Two special nephews: Tommy Lee and Logan Lee.


A loving nephew, Jeffrey Bintz, who has taken care of Uncle Lavon for the past ten years.

One adopted son: John Kalis of Janesville, WI and a grandson: John Kalis Jr. Special friends: Grace & Keith Kullmar of Iowa and Charles & Margaret Jerratt of North Carolina. Many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: John and Virgil, and a great nephew: Jeremy Eastling.

Memorial Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Greater Point Baptist Church in Stevens Point. Pastor Woody Baumgartner officiating. Burial to follow in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King, WI. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.pisarskifuneralhome.com. The Pisarski Community Funeral Home of Plover assisted the family with arrangements.
