Leonard D.
Brilowski
Jul 13, 1933 — Jun 21, 2026
He worked the land with diligence and pride, building a legacy that extended far beyond the fields he cultivated.
Leonard Daniel Brilowski, 92, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Father's Day, June 21, 2026.
Born on July 13, 1933, the sixth of eight children of Joseph and Josephine (Jurgella) Brilowski, Leonard dedicated his life to family, faith, and farming. A lifelong potato and dairy farmer in Portage County, Wisconsin, he worked the land with diligence and pride, building a legacy that extended far beyond the fields he cultivated.
On October 11, 1958, Leonard married the love of his life, Justine Veronica Wysocki, at St. Martin's Church in Ellis, Wisconsin. Together they shared nearly 68 years of marriage and raised four children. Leonard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose steady presence, strong work ethic, and quiet sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A faithful member of St. Stanislaus Holy Spirit Parish in Stevens Point, Leonard found joy in life's simple pleasures. He especially enjoyed bluegill fishing, particularly through the ice during Wisconsin winters, and deer hunting with his son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Through every season of life, he remained a loyal Chicago Cubs fan, celebrating the highs and enduring the lows with equal dedication.
His example of hard work, humility, perseverance, and quiet generosity will continue to guide those fortunate enough to have known him.
Guided by his faith and a deep sense of community, Leonard quietly supported organizations and causes that were important to him throughout his life, including the Pacelli Athletic Department, Holy Spirit Parish, Lions Camp in Rosholt, and the Wisconsin River Lions Club.
Leonard was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Chester, Joseph, Donald, and Myron Brilowski, and by his sister, Isabel Kedrowski.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Justine Veronica Brilowski; his children, Stephen (Ellen) Brilowski, Karen (Kurt) Salo, Jane (Mark) Elliott, and Rebecca Brilowski; and his youngest brother, Norbert (Rita) Brilowski.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Josephine (Collin) French, Elizabeth Brilowski, Peter Brilowski, Bradley Werwinski and his daughter, Madelyn; Karissa (Matt) Pohle and their children, Norah and Levi; Tyler (Sara) Werwinski and their child Olivia; Ethan (Sydney) Elliott and their children, Isla and Quinten; Isaac (Sami Kay) Elliott and their child, Arlen; Jacob (Kareese) Elliott; and Klara Ellenberger. He was further blessed with two additional great-grandchildren expected soon.
Leonard's life was defined by devotion—to his faith, his family, and the land he loved. His example of hard work, humility, perseverance, and quiet generosity will continue to guide those fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the fields he farmed, and the values he passed from one generation to the next. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
