Lesley Marie Kirsch:
Age 55, of Stevens Point, joined our Heavenly Father during the early hours of June 24, 2010. She passed away peacefully at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital surrounded by her loving family following a battle with cancer. Lesley was born March 14, 1955 in Rhinelander, WI.
She was the daughter of the late Dr. John Kirsch DDS and Alice (McBride) Kirsch.
She attended St. Mary's Grade School, Rhinelander High School, and graduated with a Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.
She worked as a social worker and later a behavioral consultant with various service agencies for twenty years.
Lesley was a loving mother to her eight children, as well as the cherished "baby sister" to her seven siblings. She was raised in a Catholic family and passionately embraced the Church. She kept her faith close and it saw her through her darkest hours.
Lesley spent much of her time in the company of her beloved children and grandchildren, and when not doing so, filled her time with another great love of hers, learning.
She would often be found reading a book, or dancing in the kitchen while baking or preparing a meal for not only her children, but their friends and whoever was lucky enough to be in the area to catch her eye.
She also treasured long evening walks with the family dog, "Fred Bear."
Her curious nature and carefree approach to life kept her spirit vibrant and her wit sharp.
Lesley is survived by her loving children: Alison Garrigan (Kelsey), Cody Holewinski (Jamie Bronk), Austen Gollon (Kurt), Roni Holewinski (Benjamin Passe), Zane Holewinski, Bailey Plonsky, Atticus Plonsky and Asa Plonsky.
Her memory will be kept alive with her thirteen adoring and much loved grandchildren: Walker, Elijah, Joshua, Nathan, Luke, Shea, Mason, Jack, July, Josh, Spencer, Zachary and Sascha.
She is further survived by her five sisters: Victoria Houston, Cecilia Goldhor, Michele Riopel, Stephanie Kirsch and Melanie Kirsch, and her two brothers: John Kirsch Jr. and Peter Kirsch. Numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, July 1, 2010 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Rev. Kevin C. Louis officiating. A private family burial will take place in Rhinelander, WI. Family and friends may gather from 9:30 AM Thursday at the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter's Church until the time for Mass. A celebration of Lesley's life will follow the Funeral Mass.
