Lloyd J. Hunt, 83, of Stevens Point, died Sunday evening, Oct. 14, 2012, at Care Partners in Whiting.
He was born on Jan. 15, 1929, in the town of New Hope, to the late Michael and Lauretta (Rubbelke) Hunt and was a 1948 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point. On Aug. 25, 1962, he was married to Shirley Smith at S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
Lloyd worked as a cabinet maker for Joerns Furniture, in Stevens Point, for over 40 years before retiring. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Holy Name Society, the Steelworkers' Union and was active in the Boy Scouts program. His interests included bowling, hunting, fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Stevens Point; son, Kenneth (Kelly) of Plover; daughters, Mary (James) Klesmith, Susan Hunt and Barbara Hunt all of Stevens Point; daughter-in-law, Pamela Hunt of Stevens Point; grandsons, Michael (Hannah) Klesmith, Zachary Hunt and Nicolas Hunt; step-granddaughters, Jessica Kieliszewski and Anna Sigman; great-grandson, Owen Klesmith; sisters, Sr. Louise Hunt of Green Bay, and Marge (Maurice) Kryshak of Wausau; sisters-in-law, Ruby Hunt of Oshkosh, and Judy Hunt of Kingwood, Texas.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his son, James; sister, Doris Konopacky; and brothers, Clifford and Patrick.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Entombment will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery Columbarium. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time for Mass.
