Lorraine R. Bushman

Lorraine Bushman, age 89, passed away on March 7, 2026. She was born January 16, 1937, in Stevens Point, WI.

After graduating from P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point, Lorraine worked as an AT&T switchboard operator for many years. She met Rhody in the summer of 1957. They married on June 27, 1959, at St. Peter’s Church in Stevens Point. Shortly after, they moved to Appleton, WI, to build a life and raise a family for the next 65 years.

Lorraine enjoyed traveling with the family and took many trips with Rhody after retirement. Some of their most memorable vacation spots were Florida, Las Vegas, Aruba, and a trip through Europe. Lorraine and Rhody never missed an opportunity to join their kids for Packer game tailgates when all three lived in Chicago. Lorraine’s favorite pastimes included gardening (especially her pink roses), shopping, baking/cooking for family and friends, listening to her musically talented brothers play the concertina and trumpet, and spending time with her game-playing, artistic, shop ‘til you drop, grandkids. Above all else, Lorraine loved the story she wrote with her dancing partner, Rhody, who stood by her side to the very end. Their love exemplifies true devotion and friendship.

Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Rhody Bushman; children: Scott Bushman, Amy Bushman, Toddy (Emily Schlecte) Bushman; grandchildren: Meredith Bushman, Derek Bushman, Abigail Telzrow, Justine Bushman, Rachel Telzrow, Sarah Telzrow; and brother, Irv (Lola) Kovalski.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sally Mae Kovalski, and brothers Clarence and Chet Kovalski.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday March 13, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church- 7375 Church St. Custer. Father Mark Miller will be officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Bushman Family.
