Margretha Helena (Glad) Czlapinski

Age 68, Born in Gouda, Netherlands, died Saturday, September 4, 2010. She died a peaceful death with her loving husband and family members at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital.

She was born December 15, 1941 in Gouda. In 1955, her entire Dutch family came by boat to the USA and arrived at Statton Island. They made their way to Green Bay where the majority of the family stayed until the children were grown up. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1960 and was referred to as "The little Dutch Girl."

Margaret is the daughter of the late Huibert & Johanna Cornelia (Dewaal) Van Veen. Her 1st marriage was in 1963 to Jerome (Glodowski) Glad of Stevens Point. They had two lovely children, Brian & Julie Glad. They were later divorced. Philip & Marge met in 1979 and were married in Las Vegas in 1983 and have been married for over 27 years.
Together we have 4 grandchildren.

Marge was one of the first transitional college students at the UWSP, in Stevens Point. Where by, she actually got to take her little children to school with her and sit in on any classes that she needed. This special 1st group were older than the regular students. She graduated from the UWSP with her Master's in Teaching in 1975.

She started teaching high school at Tri County School in Plainfield in 1976. She loved teaching and was loved by her students. She was particularly good at her position with the prevention of teen suicides and saved many lives. Marge also got the community involved in her classes and field trips. Her favorites were her mock trials and visits to and from the Wisconsin Supreme Court & their visiting with the Chief Justices.

Survivors include her Husband: Philip of Stevens Point. 1 Daughter: Julie (Mark) Shepherd of Lansing, NC. Having 2 Grandsons, Nathan & Levi. Our Son, Brian (Jennifer) Glad of Iola-Scandinavia, having 2 Granddaughters, Alexandra & Samantha. Surviving Brothers and Sisters include: Jacob (Nancy) Van Veen of Menasha, WI, Bart (Judy) Van Veen of Depere, WI, Dieles (Tina) Van Veen of Midland Texas, Adriana Van Veen of Seattle, WA, Arina (Cor) Stuurman of Schoonhoven, Netherlands, Huibert (Joan) Van Veen of Boston MA, & Joannes (Jill) Van Veen of Greensboro, NC.

Marge was a very loving person to her husband, children and all that surrounded her. Although her quality of life suffered over the past 6 years, she always had a warm welcoming smile on her face when company came to visit. She overcame many obstacles in her life and now she is finally at peace with herself and her maker.

She loved traveling, cooking, flea markets and collecting Delf Blue from Holland. She also enjoyed gardening & cutting her fresh flowers. There were more flowers in the home than in the flower gardens.

Marge will be cremated with a private service held at a later date.

Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be set up at a later date.
