Marlene E. (Ellen) Hopp
Of Plover, died early Friday afternoon, August 3, 2018 at the Portage County Health Care Center while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice, with her loving family at her side.
Age 76 Marlene was born July 15, 1942 in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Marvin Sr. and Ellen (Taylor) Hopp. She attended local grade schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1960. Her marriage to James Kenowski took place in the summer of 1967. The couple later divorced.
Marlene worked at St. Michaels Hospital as a nurse's aid for many years.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Marlene's name will be established at a later date.
Marlene loved watching the Green Bay Packers, and also enjoyed painting and golfing. She looked forward to gathering with her church girlfriends, and still stayed in touch with her best girlfriends from High School. Her most precious time was being able to be with her grandchildren.
Marlene was a member of the St. Bronislava Rosary Society.
Survivors include her three children; Todd (Tracey) Kenowski of Stevens Point, Cari Kenowski of Junction City, and Tami (Lance) Simonis of Stevens Point. Her eight loving grandchildren; Jessie, Cassie, Chealsea, Keith, Andrew, Keisha, Isaiah and Isaac.
Further survived by her three sisters; Lu Ann Friday of Plover, Karen Kvatek of Stevens Point and Margaret (Tim) Ebbert of St. Germaine, and two brothers Marvin "Bill" (Lori) Hopp of Plover and Robert (Chris) Hopp of St. Germaine.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Rev. Charlie Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Bronislava Parish Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Bronislava Church until the time for mass. The Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
